◊ "Much later, and many times, she wondered about what might have happened if she hadn't chosen a word that clearly belonged to her grandmother."(One Shot: Daphne says something else. Romance occurs.)
◊ The Wave happened a day earlier, while Mau was out testing his canoe for the first time (Full)the Wave itself is still the same experience, though after taking the alternity he'll be aware that it was the wrong day, and after looking for the Boy's Island, he'd go straight home
→ Getting home. Things would be devastated, but a lot of people would be alive, and he wouldn't be the only battered canoe limping in from the sea. the Sweet Judy is sunk and does not reach the Nation.
→ Mau is not chief. And is not nearly as traumatized and does not have his epiphanies. Refugees still show up, the Nation takes them in.
→ Twinkle is born, but is not Twinkle
→ The God Anchors are restored. This happens earlier than in canon by several weeks. The Chief banishes some of the refugees when one of them suggests that maybe they were rolled into the sea deliberately. There is a brawl.
→ They never open the Cave. A lot of replanting happens, and rebuilding and generally getting back to normal
→ Polegrave and Foxlip kill a couple of Islanders, but eventually are taken down.
→ The Raiders come with Cox. They win.
◊ Daphne stayed. (One Shot: starts with the conversation that Daphne has with Mau just before leaving... except this time she doesn't leave. Ends a year later.)
◊ The Wave did not happen. (One Shot: encompasses the entire time frame of canon, but without the Wave, the Raiders, Cox or the Sweet Judy: just Mau becoming the man he thought he would.)
