question meme-ish
This can be a question meme but it can also be an AU meme and a drabble meme and a heart room meme! Basically, you can feel free to prompt me to spit out words on just about anything even tangentially related to this game. If you give me a writing prompt for a canon I've never heard of, though, I warn you, it's going to wind up being set in Aather. I MAKE NO PROMISES TO FINISH THIS but what the hell.

For Mau, Jill, Chance and Eliza's Brother.

Yes. Surely this is a fantastic idea.

As a ficlet or should I just babble about it or do you want me to set up a PREMISE COMMENT and then we thread it out?

If Aather were a modern day highschool we'd have to age adjust like EVERY SINGLE PERSON but! In this AU the Personae are the inexpressibly weird school staff, and all the teams are a single grade; the team groupings are actually their assigned groups for Career and Personal Planning Class, so they have to keep doing group projects together, which practically every student deeply resents.

For every class other than CAPP, most groups get split and can only meet in the hallways, because this is a Vancouver Inner City highschool AU so homeroom only meets literally once a year, and you get to choose a few classes so everyone gets shuffled into their core curriculum classes wherever they fit around those. CAPP, on the other hand, meets once a week, which means at least once a week for their entire highschool career, the students of Aather High are forced into these stupid (gemstone named, gahd, how lame!) group project teams, so there is a certain amount of forced getting to know one another.

Mau is the kid in the Sapphire group who doesn't really speak up much or overtly try to organize anyone, but just kind of quietly slips in suggestions and completed bits of work that means no matter how loudly anyone else takes over, they always somehow end up with some kind of finished product that gets a decent mark. He acts more or less completely bored the entire time, and makes appropriately sarcastic jokes about the teacher, and generally appears totally normal and unremarkable... but nobody ever accuses him of slacking for some reason.

Outside of CAPP, Mau is on the soccer team, where he plays defense well but not spectacularly. He mostly hangs out with Josh and Ven and is middlingly popular; he works at being normal and he does it well. He's not one of those kids who gets good grades without trying and is arrogant about it, but he does get good grades. Nobody knows if it's because he works really hard or is secretly a genius, because he never offers any opinion on how easy anything is. He's one of the few kids his age who has a weekend job. He takes all sciences.

Only his close friends know that he's ambitious, restless, and actually a really angry kid -- only his best friends know what happened to his family.

OKAY KEEP ADDING STUFF ON let's make this ridiculous, tell me about Apple in this setting!

HAHA OMG okay I know nothing of Vancouver Inner City highschools so I'm just assuming they're similar enough to whatever I know of highschool.

In highschool AU Sapphire group Apple is definitely a bookworm. While most people pick sports to play, she spends her extra time in the library reading up on new subjects. Sometimes she'll take books out to read under a tree and watch people practice sports, but she gets super focused on her book so if anyone tries to talk to her she just unintentionally ignores them. She tries hard at every subject, but doesn't necessarily excel at them; she'll be the person sitting in every class studiously taking notes on everything the teacher talks about. She's really good at biology! It's one of the few classes she'll actually speak up in.

For most projects she'll only speak up if she has something to say, but if it's got something to do with biology (or anything with the human body or plants) she'll push her way to the forefront of the project with her enthusiasm.

She rarely goes out after school, most see her head straight home to help her grandparents with their business. She might (?) have a boyfriend (?) that guy that follows her around sometimes (?) but no one really knows and she's very good at deflecting any questions about it.

DO JILL DO JILL
Sand//Mau: if you let it[personal profile] doesnothappen on February 5th, 2013 08:34 am (UTC)
JILL is a daydreamer and an athlete and a does middlingly well in classes. She tries hard enough to get by, and she's really into archery... there's an archery club at the school basically because she's stubborn and convincing. But she's kind of one of the WEIRD KIDS and she doesn't have a lot of close friends, although she doesn't really have any enemies, either. Her folks are rich but pretty much ignore her existence, and she basically hates all social expectations that have anything to do with romance. She thinks it's creepy and gross and is 100% solid on the fact that she's not ready for it.

Her best subjects are history and English, and overall she's kind of lonely and unhappy, and so far nobody has really noticed that that's where the weirdness and confrontational behaviour comes from.

In the Amethyst AU she does her work, and she's actually pretty much just nice and pleasant, and tries to cheer people up about their dumb group projects by making fun of the teacher.

DO HARUKI.
Shirayuki | Apple: Rye[personal profile] appleofhiseye on February 6th, 2013 06:37 am (UTC)
I feel like Haruki's is just canon. He is STUDENT COUNCIL PRES (do they have those in Vancouver I don't know, we can say they do) and fusses at all the kids to keep in line. He is bffs with Yuki from that Sapphire group and Kazuki from Sterling (are knights like...hall monitors or something in this case, I dunno, they're just a bigger group than everyone else) and they always hang out with him. He makes Kazuki play every single sport so that their teams win everything, Kazuki is good at sports!!

He coordinates a lot of the sports matches they play with other schools because the weird teachers and faculty are kind of useless. He excels at EVERY SUBJECT and his parents are rich doctors that are never home so he pretty much lives by himself and sleeps over at Kazuki's a lot. He is probably planning on becoming doctor because that's what you do when you're smart and excel at everything and your parents are doctors.

When it comes to Amethyst he prefers to sit back and let the others work, only giving his input when it's needed. He's hardly lazy about it though; he'll propel them with questions and he tries to encourage everyone to participate (especially Night because he is clearly the slacker in our group).

...I don't know what to do next!!
