question meme-ish
This can be a question meme but it can also be an AU meme and a drabble meme and a heart room meme! Basically, you can feel free to prompt me to spit out words on just about anything even tangentially related to this game. If you give me a writing prompt for a canon I've never heard of, though, I warn you, it's going to wind up being set in Aather. I MAKE NO PROMISES TO FINISH THIS but what the hell.

For Mau, Jill, Chance and Eliza's Brother.

Yes. Surely this is a fantastic idea.

There is some sense that the dynamic has changed but also that this is Probably a Good Thing, which is a concept he is learning. Selenia's been deliberately trying to back off from Sapphire since he had a pretty significant thread with Apple where they both kind of exploded and then talked about all the ways they hurt each other which was a bit of wake up call to how he was using Sapphire as a bit of crutch/ideological punching bag. Which with Mau specifically, when he doesn't know if what he's going to say is crazy and hurtful or not he just opts to...not say it.

Which goes over to the invitation. Selenia isn't going to take the 'not offering an invite home' thing as a rejection or attempt at abandonment. He mainly brought up Apple's invite because that was something on his mind and it happened very soon after 'losing' Nessa but then Mau asked if Nessa even invited him and he realized he was being a bit crazy and deluded and then backed off. Mau not inviting him home was actually a good thing because the thing that made Apple's invitation terrifying is that he would have to make a choice between going to her world and potentially leaving everyone else behind and choices are terrifying! He kind of wanted to articulate that but he has had a bit of a uh, Stressful Time and so he shifted the conversation to Mau's plans which didn't involve anything terrifying on his end.

But he has some Good News for Mau in reserve once things have calmed down enough to actually talk, since Selenia learned a bit about how trauma games work from Jabberwock (and also that Jabberwock listened to the idea of not running trauma games and considered them and all without biting his head off) and he'd want to see if there's something to the idea of there being a Three-esque balance in the way trauma games are run in accordance to Mau's experiences, and also get his advice on what can be done with that information.

How is Jill doing? I noticed Edmund lent her a very strange cat for one thing!

Jill is doing pretty well! She got her archery skill back recently (that's why she has the cat, she's babysitting it as a quest for her bow) and she's had some interesting conversations with near-strangers that have helped her figure out that acknowledging her fears is possibly a good step toward facing them.

How's Estelle?
Van Grants 𝄞 Vandesdelca Musto Fende: light[personal profile] glorious on February 5th, 2013 07:13 am (UTC)
Estelle is currently doing all right! She's still kind of processing how large the Darkness actually is and Aather's Story and has had a few discussions about different things that have happened. Biggest thing is that she recently had a talk with Mithos about trauma game coping mechanisms and she felt much better for having had to cry once before and will...probably try less to act like she's okay when she isn't. Good developments there. *^*b

...No one else is asking about Nick and Nimue. Can I ask about them?
Sand//Mau: *burning bright[personal profile] doesnothappen on February 5th, 2013 08:36 am (UTC)
THEY ARE VERY GOOD FRIENDS more or less entirely because they said so and Nick totally has a crush on her except she's a sorceress and he's obsessed with his sister.

...the problem with asking questions about Nick is that unless you want particular details, he has probably answered them explicitly and with complete truthfulness ICly WAS THERE SOMETHING ELSE YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THEM?
Van Grants 𝄞 Vandesdelca Musto Fende: chuckle[personal profile] glorious on February 5th, 2013 09:17 pm (UTC)
O-Oh Nick. I think the adorable crush and THIS IS HOW FRIENDSHIP WORKS is enough. I just didn't know where it came from but "BECAUSE WE SAID SO" is a pretty good reason to me!

I know where Mau's username came from but what about your other characters?
Sand//Mau: no shell big enough[personal profile] doesnothappen on February 9th, 2013 03:04 am (UTC)
Jill: Tyrian calls Jill the "bravest and most wood-wise of his subjects, but also the most malapert and disobedient" also Maid Malapert sounds like Maid Marian >.>

Nick: STOP LOOKING AT ME SWAAAAAAN

Ned: "and counting" was a reference to the EXACT TIMES that are given all over the place in Pushing Daisies, also the all-important count down of one minute.

Reverse?
Van Grants 𝄞 Vandesdelca Musto Fende: blather[personal profile] glorious on February 9th, 2013 03:21 am (UTC)
Van: Vandesdelca means 'one who would seize glory' but I already use 'seizeglory' for my email and didn't want to repeat it. So I went with 'glorious' as my more pretentious choice. :'D

Saya: Saya no Uta translates to 'Song of Saya' or Saya's Song, I have seen both used. EITHER WAY, it is a song belonging to Saya. So Saya can say it is 'mysong' .

Estelle: I actually wanted something like 'childofthefullmoon' because that is what she is in canon BUT ANOTHER ESTELLE RPER BEAT ME TOO IT. I was tempted to go with 'insipidpoison' which is...also what she is, but that would've been too depressing to look at everyday. ( '-') So I went with 'fullmoonblooms' to alude to her role in relation to the full moon, and also point out that her character design is meant to alude to flowers (and also the fact that all three of my characters have SOME connection to flowers...somehow...)

What do you feel are the commonalities of the characters you've apped? If they have anything in common, that is.

Abandonment issues.

NEXT.

...no um... okay Ned has a superpower but I tend to app ORDINARY HUMANS who are nevertheless extremely capable people.

Also people with a pragmatic streak.

Also abandonment issues.

Reverse this one too!
Van Grants 𝄞 Vandesdelca Musto Fende: frontier[personal profile] glorious on February 9th, 2013 04:35 am (UTC)
MY PARENTS ARE DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD

...I think there was something else but hrm. I could go with 'morality issues' in that almost all my past characters were either nonhuman to begin with and thus had no understanding of human morals or were outright villains with very skewed moral compasses, but I deliberately apped Estelle to see if I could manage someone who was actually a good person.

Though I guess if I stretch a bit...They all have some dealing with their fate and/or purpose, where Estelle goes on a bit of a journey to change the damage her role causes, Saya embraces her purpose in the 'True Ending' of her game (though that changes depending on player choices in the game), and Van defies fate by doing exactly what it says because that is a brilliant plan with no flaws whatsoever.

...And I have no idea what to ask that hasn't been asked already. I guess Apple and I are talking about how Sapphire's approach to trauma games have changed since our characters have intro'd and also how our characters ICly perceive that change. Mau has had more time and more turnover to see changes happen with, so how has he viewed Sapphire's continual change in tactics and if Legacying changed that too, now that he's hearing about games secondhand?
