Yeah. Mau adores Ven. He's finally 100% comfortable hanging around Ven and Josh without feeling like he's intruding, which is really good for his wellbeing in general! He trusts Ven with anything and everything -- he feels completely safe that Ven will keep his secrets and care about him unconditionally, he is very sure of Ven's moral compass... he just never really feels like he has to watch his words or protect himself around Ven. He's pretty worried about him right now, though! He really wishes that things with Peridot were going smoothly right now, at least, so that Ven would have better support and less extra worry while he's dealing with his sig neg. He's also pretty aware of what a huge thing that memory is, and how... it's really impossible to get over something like that completely... and it makes him sad when he remembers how upbeat and straightforward Ven used to be about everything, and how insecure he is now. If he had one wish for Ven it would be that he could gain his confidence in himself back! Mau actually has a little constant undercurrent of anger at Peridot, because he thinks a lot of Ven's lack of confidence stems from having to deal with their disparate philosophies and feelings! (Same goes for Cassie, a bit, but more for Ven.)

But yeah he just loves Ven to bits and feels very protective toward him right now and really hopes that sometime in the future things will get better for him! He has a lot of faith in Ven's strength, but it hurts to see him hurt. He misses just hanging out casually and doing fun things, but mostly from the perspective of being sad Ven can't enjoy them much at the moment.
