Question Meme!
Okay Mau passed 25,000 comments last night and now officially has more comments than any character I have ever played (jfc I haven't even had him for a year and a half I know I'm not the spammiest but I'm still impressed.) And Ned passed 1000 awhile ago! And I'm stuck in bed.

Altogether these seem like a pretty good excuse for a QUESTION MEME for Mau, Ned, and, if you want, Chance.

"Oh, you mean, you'll pretend to be him, and I ask you questions!"

"...very good."

APOLLO IS like Tsuruume told Chuck, theee least stubborn/problematic member of Heliodor as far as she can tell. SO SHE IS KIND OF UNSURE HOW TO HANDLE HIM because he doesn't really give her... reasons to yell at him... I mean Discourse doesn't either, surprisingly, but Discourse is also Himself so it's kind of like well he's just a weirdo I don't need to know how to deal with him anyway. Apollo is not a weirdo, Apollo is just nice. Which is NOT, in fact, foreign and unbelievable to Tsuruume, as much as she tends to behave like it is, but just. Difficult for her. SO I GUESS IT IS A MUTUAL RELATIONSHIP OF CARING BUT BEING UNCOMFORTABLE AND CONFUSED AND FRUSTRATED AT THE SAME TIME. Also Tsuruume is in kind of a weird place with Heliodor in general where like, Jet established from the very beginning that Team is Important and Tsuruume understood that they need to cooperate well and was perfectly willing to do that in as dispassionate and efficient a way as possible EXCEPT THEY ALL STARTED CHUCKING DERE PINGS AT HER AND SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT because like even though I started her off on her SAPPIEST MEMORY, she does not actually know how to dere. And even though Heliodor is kind of helping to right her a little on it? For the most part she is still going with what she knows how to do WHICH IS BEING COMPLETELY OVERKILL AT EVERYTHING SHE DOES. And at the moment this is even worse in Aather than in canon because her cut off point in canon should have been back at "cooperate with magic kidnappers" and she doesn't know where she should draw a new line until after she's crossed it.

(in conclusion, Ruby happened because Heliodere. not as planned.)

Apollo is also probably the teammate she is most willing to be open with though, even though she's less comfortable around him, because he's open in return, I guess? Not that the others aren't, but... hmm they don't strike her as though they feel any need to hide anything? But she does, and it seems like Apollo does, so when they share anyway it's kind of more significant to her. Also he is the new Best Negotiator because before it was Jet, but Jet completely screwed up with CC and you know you did bad when Tsuruume has to fix a people problem for you so now it is Apollo. '-'

I ALWAYS FORGET QUESTIONS SOB

Apollo's feelings on Fawn's zombie status, also optional Ned's feelings for comparison if they're different enough
Sand//Mau: making something[personal profile] doesnothappen on May 28th, 2012 10:18 pm (UTC)
Apollo is a lot more conflicted about Fawn's zombie status than Ned is, I think! Ned mostly was just glad that Chuck was back in his life, and there was plenty to freak out about without worrying about that particular aspect of it -- also, for Ned, there was never really any other option! Either Chuck would be alive again, or she'd be dead forever, and alive again was so obviously preferable, even if they couldn't touch. The problems arising from the alive again status (largely the not-being-able-to-touch thing) were a way bigger deal than the fact that she is alive again, if that makes sense?

But for Apollo, who doesn't have his power, who doesn't really know who he is or who Fawn is, who is already smitten with her and knows just enough to put huge value in the fact that he can touch her, the alive again status itself is a big deal. He doesn't know how to feel about it -- whether he should be trying to ignore it so he can get to know Fawn on her own terms, or whether he should be aware of it all the time so he can really appreciate what he has now, especially since he knows it can't last forever. And because he doesn't remember, he really wonders -- why didn't he visit Chuck before she died? Did she have to die? What was the matter with him? And so on and so forth.

Tell me something about Tsuruume's role in canon! I don't know anything about her story!

in an obviously completely shocking resemblance to Tara, I am also on a totally relevant account for this

The thing about Tsuruume's series is that pretty much literally everyone is in a moral gray area--so even though there are what seem to be clear divisions, none of them are presented as being fully right or fully wrong. (And then the divisions change anyway, soooo.) To begin with, it's something like humans vs. demons with Toki just kind of off to the side going BUT FRIENDS, but there's more than that--the Onmyou Bureau and the Sakigami shrine cooperate against the demons, for example, but Tsuruume (of Sakigami shrine) clearly hates and distrusts the Onmyou Bureau; meanwhile, Bonten is supposed to be the leader of the demons, but they all kind of hate him. etc. etc. it gets super complicated I DON'T ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING GOING ON IN MY CANON I AM A BAD FAN.

Toki is an outlier because he's the most recent addition to the amatsuki--the world they're in--which means he has no "fate" because he hasn't been programmed into it. (Yes, programmed, it's actually all a video game.) He can consciously change the world in really obvious ways, like making a giant metal muzzle for the dog god at one point, but more often than not he does it without realizing it; because the other "characters" are also attached to players (which in some cases shows really clearly, like Bonten seems to know he's from present day and hallucinates about some kid with a hospital bag stand at one point, Kon used to be one of Toki's classmates, etc.), they all have full consciousnesses, so as he goes and interacts with them, they respond to him in turn and he sets their "fates" off balance because Teiten didn't take him into consideration.

IN THIS WAY, because Toki's power as the Unwritten Page (that is what they call his reality-bending stuff) gave her hope of escaping Heaven's Net (fate), Ginshu defied Teiten and got erased and replaced by what someone called an approximation.

Like. Not as in Teiten made someone to impersonate her. As in Teiten made a different character who looked and acted like her, but with key differences, and then rewrote the entire world with her in everyone's memories instead. Or tried to, rather!

As you can probably guess this is when Tsuruume completely flipped all of her shits, which, explained through Toki being Toki, is her biggest significance to the plot and will probably remain so, mostly because IT'S PRETTY DAMN SIGNIFICANT, she's the only one who noticed the difference, but also because I think she might have been cratered along with the entire shrine when Shinshu flipped her own shits later but that is beside the point.

The point is mostly that Tsuruume has THAT MANY FEELINGS.

How does Apollo feel about the Personae?
Sand//Mau: *burning bright[personal profile] doesnothappen on May 29th, 2012 05:01 pm (UTC)
Apollo feels mostly u n s u r e about the Personae... like he doesn't really have a concept of them overall? He thinks that this whole kidnapping and amnesia schtick is pretty deplorable! So he's definitely not overly sympathetic to them. But he's still (even after the kill game) kind of in the mindset that THIS IS AN ADVENTURE, and maybe it is a dangerous and terrible adventure, but real adventures are, aren't they? And he keeps hearing stuff about the Personae being "stories," and so in his head they're sort of... mmm... only half real? Like, having a hissy creepy dragon tell you to kill other people is surreal and difficult to connect with on a level that having a creepy dude in a suit tell you the same thing wouldn't be. So he has a hard time taking them personally or seeing them as people he can interact with. He also thinks the concept of them is kind of neat, he thinks they're PRETTY COOL even while he resents and disapproves of their actions. IDEK APOLLO.

How does Tsuruume feel about them? (I'M GUESSING IT'S LESS WISHY-WASHY THAN NED)
Tsuruume: flame[personal profile] redblossoms on May 29th, 2012 10:46 pm (UTC)
HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE

somehow this only gets worse instead of better over time. The exception is Brother Deer, who just kind of freaks her out but she also finds kind of pitiful. As a group though HATE ALL OF THEM.

She really really hates that there are magical beings with this much power over so many people, and would even if both she and Ginshu weren't included in those people but since they are it's definitely worse. She hates the games, hates the fact that she and Ginshu are on different teams, hates the memory loss and the fact that the Personae lord it over all their heads and is only barely not shounen stupid enough to try and go wrangling memories out of the darkness personally just to spite the whole system. Getting back a memory that explained that everything is split into "body" and "soul" and people's "souls" consist of their memories and experiences definitely did not turn anything in their favor either. THERE ARE JUST GENERALLY NO GOOD PERSONA FEELINGS.

how does Apollo feel about the games/did he even attend enough of them to have a favorite
