Okay Mau passed 25,000 comments last night and now officially has more comments than any character I have ever played (jfc I haven't even had him for a year and a half I know I'm not the spammiest but I'm still impressed.) And Ned passed 1000 awhile ago! And I'm stuck in bed.

Altogether these seem like a pretty good excuse for a QUESTION MEME for Mau, Ned, and, if you want, Chance.

Ned's thoughts on Mitchell :D

WHAT A NICE GUY.

Yeah Ned really likes Mitchell! He's informative and helpful and has a sense of humor -- maybe he's a little judgmental? But Ned's also a little judgmental, so this isn't really a bad thing as far as he's concerned. Also, Chuck likes him, so that gives him immediate extra points, and he's not a teenager, so immediate extra comfort points there as well. It does not hurt that he's from the Baking Team, either. He's pretty at-ease around Mitchell (as at-ease as Ned gets, really) and enjoys his company, they could be bros!

Marine is a lovely girl and so brave and energetic and clever and oh god he can't take care of her and she keeps going out and winning games that he doesn't even notice and she's obviously capable and mature so he doesn't want to step on her toes or make her feel like he's overstepping his bounds trying to protect her because really, who is he? Some strange man she just met! But he wants all the best for her and to encourage her and make sure she gets three square meals a day and yes okay basically he's just brimming with affection and nervousness for her everywhere. He thinks she has a good heart and good sense, and he's really glad she's on his team.

Ahhhh Ned that's so cute.

Marine loves Ned. '^' He's kind and smart and he talks a lot (but it's okay because she can tell he's nervous sometimes) and she can tell that he cares a lot! She really appreciated Ned after the trauma game a lot because him being there and trying to be supportive was really nice. 8(a SHE IS SUPER FOND OF HIM and super glad that they're on the same team. Sure, he's some strange guy she just got thrown on a team with, but she doesn't care much about that. She knows she can depend on him and that's what counts! Also he's one of the calmer people on the team and the team honestly needs some calm people. Because calm is something they kind of fail at as a group.

SHE WOULD HONESTLY BE OKAY WITH IT if he wanted to take care of her!? Because Ned is cool. '-' There are just no guarantees that she wouldn't barrel headfirst into stupid situations without thinking if something happens (like that one cave exploradora plot back in January).

Neji seems like a nice, serious young man, with... possibly a very quiet and wry sense of humor? Positive impressions, overall! He's been helpful, seems a little awkward about accepting thanks, might like pie... isn't nosy! Ned really appreciated that he was willing to back off from asking tricky questions about Church. Would talk to again! He doesn't have any idea how Neji feels about him -- he imagines it could range anywhere from "vaguely annoyed but tolerant" to "vaguely positive," so he feels slightly shy about approaching him. He doesn't want to step on any toes!

(Also, unrelated, I'm hoping to get a chance for Sakura to introduce Mau to Neji for the purpose of CHAKRA THINGS sometime soon, if you're up for that!)

Ned's thoughts on Coral?

CORAL IS CHUCKS TEAM AND SHE LOVES THEM SO THEY MUST BE GOOD.

Aside from that, Ned likes everyone on Coral whom he's met so far -- Shark is polite and seems like a nice young man, Cub is frankly adorable... Dragonfly is not actually as intimidating as Ned lets on. In fact, Ned really likes Dragonfly, and how quick and protective and also... goofy... he is. He thinks it's really sweet. And Kit seems like a good guy, too! Very friendly. So yeah, Coral is solidly awesome in Ned's mind.

From the beginning, Ned has been struck by how courageous Ran is. He really respects her, and definitely feels like she's the most... together... out of anyone on Heliodor. He has some anxiety about not being able to protect her or look after her LIKE AN ADULT SHOULD, but she is so competent and brave that he feels like he probably couldn't get away with it anyway. So instead he'll just try to be someone she can trust and work with. +1000 Heliodere. Ran is probably the biggest reason Ned actually clicked into the mentality that he belongs to Heliodor and has responsibility to it and can't afford to just fall apart/storm out on it when yelling happens.

WE BROS.

Yeah. Mau adores Ven. He's finally 100% comfortable hanging around Ven and Josh without feeling like he's intruding, which is really good for his wellbeing in general! He trusts Ven with anything and everything -- he feels completely safe that Ven will keep his secrets and care about him unconditionally, he is very sure of Ven's moral compass... he just never really feels like he has to watch his words or protect himself around Ven. He's pretty worried about him right now, though! He really wishes that things with Peridot were going smoothly right now, at least, so that Ven would have better support and less extra worry while he's dealing with his sig neg. He's also pretty aware of what a huge thing that memory is, and how... it's really impossible to get over something like that completely... and it makes him sad when he remembers how upbeat and straightforward Ven used to be about everything, and how insecure he is now. If he had one wish for Ven it would be that he could gain his confidence in himself back! Mau actually has a little constant undercurrent of anger at Peridot, because he thinks a lot of Ven's lack of confidence stems from having to deal with their disparate philosophies and feelings! (Same goes for Cassie, a bit, but more for Ven.)

But yeah he just loves Ven to bits and feels very protective toward him right now and really hopes that sometime in the future things will get better for him! He has a lot of faith in Ven's strength, but it hurts to see him hurt. He misses just hanging out casually and doing fun things, but mostly from the perspective of being sad Ven can't enjoy them much at the moment.

Apollo and Tsuruume! :'D

WHAT DO?!

Apollo... does not really know how to handle Tsuruume at all. His original impression of her was that she was a little brusque and prickly, but helpful and caring. When she dumped all the stones on Ruby in the game he was appalled -- he yelled way more at Church because he just. Couldn't deal with Tsuruume having done that at all. He didn't know what to say or how to react, so he mostly... didn't... and then after he was trying to gear himself up to have a talk to her about why she would do it and what else they could have done and why that isn't okay, but then she felt bad and brought the girls back to the cabin and tried to apologize to Ruby, so he's just ignoring it instead. Because repression is the best way to deal. AND THEN she got her memory and cried and let him hug her and gave him tea and... he's just kind of coming to the conclusion that Tsuruume is a Hot Mess. BUT HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH THAT EITHER. So it's just kind of this awkward morass of sympathy and utter confusion and liking her and wanting to make her comfortable and being extremely uncomfortable himself.

But yes all of the awkwardness and confusion and frustration are being fueled by affection and really caring about her, it is a perpetual motion machine of feelings.

First impressions, Ned?

Ned's first impression of Sapphire was Loveless Selenia, so Apple is doing a fair bit to repair his concept of Sapphire being the Creepy Team Who Doesn't Mind Child Labor. She's friendly and fun to talk to! He'll say hi now if he sees her out and about.

Ned is extremely relieved by the fact that Jaina seems like a nice person who's willing to help out with Heliodor's crisis without asking too many uncomfortable questions, so the circumstances are coloring what would already be a positive impression to make it extremely positive. She just seems like such a nice, helpful, knowledgeable lady who knows cool things and uses the word "droids," which will tickle him more when he gets his pop culture skill back than it does now (he wanted to be a Jedi knight as a child, this is canon), but that hasn't come up yet. Also she seems to have a sense of humor and be calm and competent, for which he is extremely grateful at the moment. Also she's NOT A TEENAGER, so she gets bonus points for that. Ned is a little bit boggled by how he seems to be surrounded by kids.

MAU'S IMPRESSIONS ON HUNTER?

He seems like a really nice guy! Mau feels really bad about having his first game be a STAND WITH US AND DIE game and actually feels really responsible for that, but he appreciates that Hunter appears to have known what he was getting into and isn't going to bring it up. Because it was Hunter's choice, and he respects that! He'll just... also look out for him and help him out if/whenever he can. Hunter seems twitchy, though, Mau wants to know what that's all about.

YOU ARE KIND OF WEIRD and so is your other personality but also you are capable of holding a mostly rational conversation without swearing every other word, even if you do think I should try to use my incredibly limited zombie skill in games and damn the consequences.

All in all, Ned is kind of... unsure... about Discourse. But he's team! And that concept has been surprisingly solidified in Ned's mind. And he's relatively courteous! And so Ned likes him just fine... and sort of enjoys needling him... and would defend him with long rambling speeches if anyone off team said anything bad about him.

...I need to remember my own question meme cause I got stuck on one question and then...took forever.

BUT OTHERWISE I am curious about a hypothetical: Now that Mau and Selenia had talks about SUICIDAL INTENT and MEANING OF LIFE and there is a trauma game coming up...How would Mau take it if Selenia decided to suicide self-sacrifice in a game again? (I am like, 99.9% sure this will be a thing again so. '-'a)

It really depends on who's running the game, who else is in the room, and how it comes up. if breaking the game looks possible, that's option one. Mau is probably not going to be okay with Sapphire taking ALL the damage if there's the possibility of cancelling some of it out, and he's always going to side with the people who want to take the least amount of damage, because even though he'll never feel like they are more deserving of protection than everyone else, he feels more responsible for them. But if everyone's on board, he'd rather risk taking more damage than other teams, always, so honestly in that situation he'd probably just ignore his extreme dubiousness about Selenia's motives and go with it for the sake of not causing the team strife in a high stakes situation. Although if Selenia mentioned anything about wanting to take all the damage because a certain death is better than a chance at life, he'd freak right the hell out and do his best to veto any such thing.
